Hide that ugly opto sensor and its unsightly wires! Stern decided to position this sensor directly in the player's line of sight -- block it from view with this intricately detailed Empire State Building mod! After all, what's a King Kong game without the ESB?

This highly detailed model is the produced via extremely lengthy three-color 3D print, including a warm speckled stone color for the structure, transparent gray for the windows, and metallic steel color for the antenna tower. It began as an excellent model created by Miroslav Faist, and has been heavily modified for ideal fit in the game. Due to its height, the building requires extremely precise positioning to ensure clearance when rotating/lifting the playfield for servicing the game. This positioning is established by its unique mounting bracket, whose oddly canted features also accomodate the not-perfectly-level plastics to which it mounts. The mod design required dozens of iterations and modifications to achieve the perfect size, shape, and fit -- but it was worth the effort!

This mod is compatible with Stellar Pinball’s Biplane Attack mod! See photo in this listing demonstrating the clearance between the wingtips and the building.

Installation is very easy and requires only a Phillips-head screwdriver (magnetic tip preferred). DIY instruction video below.

Featured in the playfield artwork of King Kong: Myth of Terror Island is a stone temple, built by the ancient natives of Terror Island, who carved a statue on top honoring the mighty Kong! This wonderful detail deserves the 3D treatment, and so here it is brought to life!

The temple is exquisitely detailed with stone textures and stair features. After printing (in two colors, to accommodate a diffuser for the lighting), the temple is detailed by hand with aging effects and realistic shrubbery overgrowth. Internal lighting gives the appearance of fires maintained inside the temple which flicker continuously during gameplay, driven by the game's general illumination.

Installation is very easy and requires only a 5/16" nut driver or ratcheting wrench. Purchase includes the temple with pre-installed lighting, aging effects, greenery, and mounting magnets, plus a mounting plate / light shield, and matrix bulb with extension. See "Installation Instuctions" for DIY video.

Designed specifically for King Kong Premium version (with its biplane artwork surrounding the start button), this 3D start button features the rest of the propeller blades and central spinner cap! The raised blades are printed in a metallic multicolor filament for additional depth effect -- plus a metallic white along their leading edge to match the shine in the artwork. The spinner cap is printed in metallic silver, while the remainder is printed in your choice of translucent tangerine or amber. The tangerine lights up very, very light -- almost white to the naked eye -- while the amber lights up more of an orange. Both look great though so the choice is up to you!

IMPORTANT NOTE TO EXISTING CUSTOMERS: If you own a Premium but already purchased my other Kong start button (the gold meander pattern w/ rock letters) and you'd prefer to have this version instead, I have set up a special discount where you can purchase this new version for only $10! Your coupon code will be your last name plus your order number (for example, DOHERTY90210).

Go Ape Again insert light corrector for King Kong

Due to an inadequate light source for its type of insert, 'Go Ape Again' on King Kong is weakly and unevenly lit during gameplay. Rocket City Pinball has designed a solution -- a custom 3D printed mount with an integrated Comet star post light, plus a unique custom lightboard cover/interface to safely tap into power.

The custom lightboard cover is designed to allow connection of alligator clips without risk of short-circuiting the pads or clips -- the cover has a built-in wall between the solder pads, and walls/grooves on the outside to prevent inadvertent contact of the clips. The cover also shields the board from accidental contact during relocation, and mutes the existing LED to eliminate light pollution under the playfield.

Available colors for the updated light are white and purple. If you want to keep the stock look (just cleaner/brighter/more even), then go with white. If you want to add a splash of color, trust me when I tell you that purple is the right choice here -- it's difficult to capture in photos, but it looks PERFECT with the surrounding pink/purple artwork.

Note: This mod is 100% reversible (but why would you?).

King Kong Coin Reject Buttons

These 3D coin reject buttons feature the ancient temple tower complete with shiny gong! The model's details and strategic print patterns give the tower blocks their 'engraved/carved' appearance, like the tower in the game. In a fun reference to the buttons' function, the gong's design shows '25c' (cents) instead of a Kong face. Mid-layer filament changes allow for full color integration on the designs and fuses them together as one single continuous print.

Purchase includes a pair of buttons (or a single button for exported games), colored bulbs where applicable (e.g., purple, red, or warm white for yellow or orange base buttons), and replacement e-clips.

Installation is easy! See installation instructions below.

Many thanks to Basstone18 for this authorized use of his gong tower model!

**Buyer is responsible to confirm their coin door uses this Suzo-Happ button type (replacement for button only in 42-0517 assembly, no housing included), as some export/reimport games may have had coin doors changed/modified.**

Arcade / on-location games can credit up through various non-traditional means, e.g., paid location entry with all games on free play, swipe card systems, integrated cashless systems, bill collectors, etc. Some locations might switch games between coin drop and free play for tournaments or other events. In these cases, operators may want to cover the coin slots to prevent confusion -- especially from younger clientele who aren't always sure how to operate or credit the games. Locations who do utilize coin drop might experience a coin slot that jams or breaks (without immediate opportunity to repair), so an operator might want to cover one of the two available slots.

In any of the above scenarios, consider Rocket City Pinball's CoinBlockers! These are designed to fit most modern games that use the Universal Pinball Validator Door (P/N 40-0696-30) from Suzo-Happ (reference https://na.suzohapp.com/products/coin_doors/40-0696-30). CoinBlockers are designed to snugly fit over the coin slot frames, and have a textured surface finish to blend in with the finish of the door. Simply press the CoinBlocker firmly in place and the coin slots disappear! To remove, firmly grasp the CoinBlocker and pull/rock it until it pops off.

Q: Could a guest remove this?
A: Only with adequate force -- but why would they? The CoinBlocker blends in with the door and in most cases will be completely ignored. It cannot be removed with an inadvertent bump; they are very snug when installed so removal requires intent.

CoinBlockers are available in Dual-Slot style which covers both slots (ideal for free play or swipe card setups). Broken or jammed slot? Cover it in a flash (until you have time to repair it) with the single-slot style CoinBlocker. One wall on the Single-Slot version is thin enough to fit between the two slot frames. Single-Slot style can also be used on doors with wider slot spacing (e.g., 40-0707-00), or exported games with only a single slot.

Wanna get fancy? CoinBlockers can also be customized with your location's logo! Send a vectorized or layered version of your logo and it can be printed right onto your CoinBlocker. (For customized CoinBlockers, you must add one Customization Fee to your cart, regardless of the number of CoinBlockers you intend to order. This is for the time required to process the logo and integrate it into the CoinBlocker model for printing.)

Designed to match the K-I-N-G--K-O-N-G inserts featured prominently on the playfield, this 3D Start Button features exquisite black & gold detailing plus orange rock letters spelling 'START'. The playfield artwork's letters have foliage on top, so the buttons are made in two versions -- with or without foliage. The button is printed using mid-layer filament changes so it is entirely fused together. The gold is printed in a metallic filament and the outer border and letters are printed in a specialty filament designed to look and feel like rock!
