Designed specifically for King Kong Premium version (with its biplane artwork surrounding the start button), this 3D start button features the rest of the propeller blades and central spinner cap! The raised blades are printed in a metallic multicolor filament for additional depth effect -- plus a metallic white along their leading edge to match the shine in the artwork. The spinner cap is printed in metallic silver, while the remainder is printed in your choice of translucent tangerine or amber. The tangerine lights up very, very light -- almost white to the naked eye -- while the amber lights up more of an orange. Both look great though so the choice is up to you!

IMPORTANT NOTE TO EXISTING CUSTOMERS: If you own a Premium but already purchased my other Kong start button (the gold meander pattern w/ rock letters) and you'd prefer to have this version instead, I have set up a special discount where you can purchase this new version for only $10! Your coupon code will be your last name plus your order number (for example, DOHERTY90210).

Go Ape Again insert light corrector for King Kong

Due to an inadequate light source for its type of insert, 'Go Ape Again' on King Kong is weakly and unevenly lit during gameplay. Rocket City Pinball has designed a solution -- a custom 3D printed mount with an integrated Comet star post light, plus a unique custom lightboard cover/interface to safely tap into power.

The custom lightboard cover is designed to allow connection of alligator clips without risk of short-circuiting the pads or clips -- the cover has a built-in wall between the solder pads, and walls/grooves on the outside to prevent inadvertent contact of the clips. The cover also shields the board from accidental contact during relocation, and mutes the existing LED to eliminate light pollution under the playfield.

Available colors for the updated light are white and purple. If you want to keep the stock look (just cleaner/brighter/more even), then go with white. If you want to add a splash of color, trust me when I tell you that purple is the right choice here -- it's difficult to capture in photos, but it looks PERFECT with the surrounding pink/purple artwork.

Note: This mod is 100% reversible (but why would you?).

The subtle details matter!

Much of the factory hardware (silver screws, washers, nuts, etc.) clash with the plastics & artwork of the Dungeons & Dragons game in several areas. I've sourced black & gold hardware to better match the game, and have meticulously gone through each of the different size and length fasteners that I think should be changed (generally anything in/near certain artwork/plastics).

The kit inclues over 120 parts, including:
-- All the black & gold hardware (in 16 different lengths/sizes/etc) needed to replace screws, nuts, & washers in visible, accessible areas where the factory hardware doesn't match the art/surroundings
-- 14 HexSleeves (in 7 different lengths), which are 3D-printed and pre-sized to hide certain hex spacers
-- Two printed black covers to hide the unsightly opto boards
-- A printed cover to cover part of a gate bracket & two hex spacers

See installation map/instructions/tips at https://tinyurl.com/RCP-DnD-HardwareKit or at the QR code in the listing photos.

Kit was designed on the Prem/LE, but is expected to fit the Pro as well.

FAQ:
Q: I don't see much difference in the before & after pics, what the heck am I looking at?
A: Look closely at the attach hardware on/around the plastics. It's amazing how much better they blend in when the colors match or complement better.

Q: Why should I pay so much for what's basically just a bag of small hardware?
A: Much of this hardware isn't common and/or isn't available in small quantities -- there are 16 different types of hardware in the kit, in various small quantities. Purchasing minimum quantity of every different type would be much more expensive than simply buying this kit. Plus, I've saved you all the time of figuring out what sizes & lengths you need, and what should go where. In addition, there are a handful of parts that I've modeled & 3D printed. You're receiving a fully prepared kit and simply install it according to the instructions! Your purchase covers the cost of the hardware, the 3D printed parts, and the time I've spent developing the kit (and packing each one) to save you all that time and effort!

Q: What if I disagree with what looks good in certain places?
A: At the end of the day, it's your game -- so if you think something looks better with OEM hardware than with the colored items I've included, then just leave them out!

Q: What tools will I need?
A: 5/16” nut driver, 11/32” nut driver, 1/4" wrench, Phillips head screwdriver, right angle multi-bit tool, etc. Forceps also recommended to hold some specific components in place during R&R. See installation instructions for more details!

Pokemon Colored Post Kit

The details matter! In addition to the awful clear post on the back wall, most of the red posts clash too much in certain areas of the game -- particularly the grassy area and the blue areas left of the arena. Also, the lower area (slingshots etc.) has pokeball art and the white/black/red motif -- so how about "pokeposts" to match?

As usual, there's a little personal taste involved, so Rocket City Pinball's Pokemon Colored Post Cleanup Kit comes in two variations:
- Complete kit: RCP's recommended colored posts & Pokeposts, green lane guides, black post for back wall, and enough extra Pokeposts to replace any of the other colors (if you decide you like the Pokepost better during installation)
- Pokeposts-only kit: Full set of Pokeposts (i.e., none of the other colors), plus green lane guides, and black post for back wall

The photos attached to this listing indicate the recommended locations & colors. No further installation guide is available; any disassembly required for access is to be determined by the end user.

Special thanks to Pin-Tweak for volunteering to help test the installation! More photos coming soon.

On Venom Premium & LE, the Doppelganger and his big ol' booty cause two major issues:

1) It completely obstructs the player's view of the right orbit's primary insert -- several times I was looking for the next mini-mode shot and couldn't find it!
2) The right-most dangly target can get caught in the shooter lane. Stern tried to prevent this by adding a small plastic/acrylic under there, but it's not tall enough.

Rocket City Pinball has you covered with some simple but necessary solutions!

Problem #1 is addressed with a shatterproof mirror on a 3D-printed support, which mounts on the side of the lane divider. It has curved mounting tabs to allow you adjust its position/angle best suited for your height and/or playing position. Once properly positioned, it will reflect the insert in the mirror so now you can see it, while still having plenty of room for the ball to pass beneath it and around the orbit.

Problem #2 is addressed with an improved design laser-cut acrylic, adding the extra height needed to prevent the dangly target from swinging into the shooter lane.

Installation video contains more details and DIY instructions.

Note: Premium/LE only; the Pro does not have the doppelganger mechanism.

Get started catching Pokémon with a poké ball 3D start button from Rocket City Pinball! This representation of a poké ball features smooth curvature, with natural depth around the black seam and a raised center button. RCP's unique design utilizes six different color filaments, resulting in a button that looks crisp red & white while unlit, and still glows a beautiful bright red & white when lit. Mid-layer filament changes permanently fuse all components together.

Special thanks to Fuzzy_Wafflz whose poke ball model served as a jumping-off point; major modifications were then required to create the finished RCP design.
