JJP’s beautiful Sonic the Hedgehog game has some figure/representation issues:
– Sonic’s black mounting bracket is very visible and clashes with the artwork!
– Amy has a small black bracket with the same color clash.
– Where are Tails & Knuckles? They’re OGs from the Genesis era!
– Shadow … well he’s just cool, and could use some representation.
Rocket City Pinball’s got ’em covered — resolve these problems with these replacement bracket / cleanup kits and additional character kits!
For Sonic, replace the unsightly black bracket with a custom translucent green one, that not only blends in better with the artwork but also transmits some of the surrounding light. In addition, the bracket replacement includes a green hex sleeve and green screw to dress up the nearby spotlight, and a translucent white/clear hex sleeve/cap to better hide the anti-ball trap hex spacer.
For Amy, a translucent green bracket replaces her black bracket, and includes a green mounting nut.
Let’s add Tails! Included in the Tails kit is Tails himself (holding a wrench, since he’s the gearhead of the group), pre-assembled to a custom translucent green mounting bracket, to position him adjacent to Big & Froggy’s pond on the right side of the game. Tails kit also includes a translucent green hexsleeve and green screw to clean up the adjacent spotlight.
Let’s add Knuckles too! The Bash target area is perfect for him, since he is associated with this feature in all the game’s animations. The Knuckles kit includes Knuckles himself, pre-assembled to a custom translucent green mounting bracket (designed with anti-ball-trap features) and a green countersunk mounting screw.
While he’s not one of the OGs, anit-hero Shadow is still featured very prominently in the game art, so let’s add him too! The Shadow kit simply includes the Shadow model and a white-topped mounting screw, to mounting him climbing up the wall into Robotnik’s lab.
There are many models of each of these characters out there, and I acquired several different versions to choose the best ones for these kits, with particular attention paid to the general quality/appearance and the size (in comparison to the existing Sonic & Amy models). Tails is slightly smaller than Sonic, Knuckles is slightly larger, and Shadow is roughly the same size.
Shop variations are set up to allow you to purchase any combination of the kits, in case you want particular characters and not others, or only want the replacement brackets for Sonic & Amy without adding any new characters.
